Milestones and Achievements
- Successful Annual Performance Appraisals of the Ninth National Assembly from 2019-2022, successfully delivering Nigeria’s first-ever Most Valuable Parliamentarian (MVP) Hall of Fame for the 9th Assembly and successful Annual Performance Appraisals of the Tenth Assembly’s first year from June 2023- May 2024.
- Partnership with the 10th House of Representatives – Since implementing activities leading up to its inauguration in June 2023, OrderPaper has been recognised as a technical partner of the 10th National Assembly. This included participation in the Orientation Programme organised for members of the assembly.
- Successful voter sensitisation, monitoring and observation of the 2023 National and State Houses of Assembly election across the 360 Federal/State Constituencies through the VOTER project – Validating the Office of the Electorate on Representation.
- Through the GIFT project – Growth Initiatives for Fiscal Transparency- we have launched effective anti-corruption campaigns and policy reforms within the extractive sector/Public Finance Management (PFM) thematic areas.
- Research, Knowledge Products, and Legislative Intelligence – OrderPaper Advocacy Initiative provides specialised research and knowledge products on public policy and parliamentary interventions. These products include the Quarterly Policy Review (QPR), Commissioned Policy Briefs (CPBs), Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Tracker and the NASS Annual Report (NAP), which is released every September.
- Delivery of the Gallery Colloquium, High-impact Development Dialogue Series (DDS), and the Host Community (HostCom) Colloquiums in the last six years
- Highly interactive OPEN (Online Parliamentary Engagement Nigeria) events shared on a platform of over 45 000 social media followers and engagements
- The Leg’ACE programme—OrderPaper Advocacy Initiative created and maintains the Legislative Accountability and Constituency Engagement programme, which comprises a community of Active Citizens Engaging (ACEs) in the legislature. These community-based volunteers are spread across the country’s 360 Federal Constituencies and continue to receive capacity-building support and guidance to engage their representatives in parliament.
- Development of civic tech tools and web features- OrderPaper has developed and deployed several civic technology tools and platforms to engender citizen participation in government. These include ConsTrack and RemTrack and a user-friendly database on the 10th National Assembly.
- POPULA (Promoting Open Parliament for Upscaling Legislative Accountability) Project- OrderPaper implemented the POPULA project, which birthed the Nigeria Network of Parliamentary Monitoring Organisations (NNPMOs). A key focus of the project was popularising the Open Parliament Index (OPI) developed by PNAfrica with support from NED to assess Parliaments across Africa using the three criteria of Open Parliament – Transparency, Civic Participation, and Public Accountability.
